Vote integrity
Votes are not for sale
Televised competitions have taught audiences that a result can be bought. That is the thing we exist to be different from, so it is worth saying plainly what is settled here, and being equally plain about what is not.
- No vote packs.
- No paid boosts.
- No paying for votes under any other name.
What is settled
A vote is something a person casts, once, because a performance moved them. It is not a unit of anything and there is no way to acquire more of it. This is not a launch promise that gets revisited when the numbers are disappointing. It is the reason the platform exists, and a version of ShowRYA that sells votes is not a later version of ShowRYA, it is a different product.
What is ruled out
Vote packs. Paid boosts. Bundles, priority, weighted votes for supporters, and anything else that is the same arrangement under a friendlier name. If a feature would let one audience outspend another, it does not ship, whatever it does for revenue.
What is not decided
How audience votes and judge scoring combine has not been settled. Neither have round structure or deadlines. Those will be published alongside the rules before entries close, and they will be published before anybody casts a vote that counts, not after. That votes cannot be bought is not part of that discussion and is not waiting on it.
How to hold us to this
This page has an address and so does every statement on it. If ShowRYA ever ships something that contradicts what is written here, the page you are reading is the evidence, and we would rather be shown it than quietly get away with it.
